Happy New Year, everyone!
How does it feel? Just like any other day? I agree. It’s funny when you think about how and why time exists and it totally makes sense but I’m a firm believer that you can write new beginnings whenever the heck you want and don’t need a institutionalized milestone to inspire you to do so.
If you’ve been reading my blog, or following me on social media, for any time you know that I adore winter and am a firm believer that you should embrace the silence, the cold, the coziness, and the hibernation. I love it. It’s in my blood. So, why the heck would I buy into the “New year, New me” stuff?
Stay with me here…
Sometimes you need a good excuse to get things going. Sometimes you’re in a rut. SOMETIMES you need to fall into the trap that everyone falls into and hit the reset button because it feels like there’s no better time than the present!
Here I am, here we are. And I’m setting two major intentions for myself this month. What are yours?
I’d like to take a moment and give myself a big pat on the back for refraining from embarking on all ten ideas I had which is a huge shift from year’s past and I’m convinced it’s because this is my 30th year so obviously I’m much more of an adult now.
Anyway, I’m doing the Yoga With Adrienne 30-Day Challenge (check her out on YouTube!). I did this last year and absolutely LOVED it and am so excited to do it again with a couple of my dear friends. The practices range from 20-50 minutes and it’s all free, done in the comfort of whatever space you have.
My second challenge is that I’m going to write to you everyday. From now until January 31st, I’m going to publish something on this blog. It may vary in length and content, but I am going to do it.
One of the biggest things that’s come up for me as I meditate on my goals and intentions for the year is that I miss being an artist. I miss creating things. It’s who I am and it’s in my blood. I think writing every day will be the perfect outlet for me to explore and (hopefully) inspire me. Writing coupled with yoga, which always helps me breathe, meditate, and see things more clearly, will hopefully serve me well. I mean, how can they not?
I’m really excited and sort of nervous to bring you all along with me. Thanks for reading and let’s do this!
